Parti Buruh adalah parti bagi Perdana Menteri Australia Julia Gillard kawan rapat Najib Razak. Julia Gilliard telah mendapat kritikan hebat dari rakyat Australia kerana perjanjian berkaitan pendatang asing dengan Malaysia.
Perjanjian berkenaan mendapat kritikan kerana Malaysia tidak menepati syarat PBB berkaitan penempatan pendatang asing.
Pemerhati politik berpendapat Parti Buruh juga akan tumbang dalam pilihanraya memilih Perdana Menteri Australia tahun depan.
Labor’s Bligh Concedes Defeat in Queensland Poll Landslide
Queensland Premier Anna Bligh conceded defeat in today’s elections in the Australian state as the Liberal National Party ended 14 years in power for Labor, deepening its challenge before next year’s national ballot.
“It is absolutely clear tonight that Queenslanders have spoken with the strongest possible voice and they have voted for a change of government,” Bligh told Labor supporters at an event in Brisbane. She congratulated Liberal National leader Campbell Newman, who thanked voters for their trust as he claimed victory.
The landslide defeat in Queensland leaves Labor out of power in all but the two smallest of Australia’s six states, with Prime Minister Julia Gillard facing a federal election within 20 months. The Liberal Nationals have secured 77 of the state parliament’s 89 seats, with Labor winning 8, according to Australian Broadcasting Corp. projections.
“The scale of the trashing in Queensland is a wake-up call to Gillard that voters won’t tolerate any more mistakes from Labor,” said Andrew Hughes, who conducts political-marketing research at the Australian National University in Canberra. “The result isn’t a sea-change, it’s a tsunami that’s completely wiped out Labor” in Queensland.
